GE HealthCare Korea launches Vscan Air PT app for virtual ultrasound training < Device/ICT < Article

GE HealthCare Korea said it has launched the Vscan Air PT (Personal Trainer) app to provide virtual training for its portable wireless ultrasound device, the Vscan Air series.

The app is designed to integrate with the ultrasound system, allowing medical professionals to maximize the device’s capabilities through virtual training sessions. It offers detailed usage instructions for all models within the Vscan Air lineup, including the Vscan Air CL (Convex & Linear) and the newly introduced Vscan Air SL (Sector & Linear).
The Vscan Air SL is an advanced iteration of the Vscan Air series, featuring a sector & linear dual-probe system that facilitates both basic imaging and comprehensive whole-body scans.
Particularly beneficial for cardiovascular diagnostics, the device incorporates new functionalities such as M mode, PW mode, annotation, and transcranial Doppler (TCD), enabling high-resolution imaging and an intuitive software interface to enhance diagnostic efficiency.
Additionally, real-time diagnostics on a portable device improve communication and workflow between medical professionals and patients.
The training program is included with device purchases, enabling healthcare professionals to access instructional content anytime, anywhere. The company expects that this will ensure optimal utilization of the ultrasound device, tailored to different patients and clinical situations.
“The Vscan Air series is a pocket-sized wireless ultrasound solution used for various diagnostic applications, including cardiovascular and internal medicine,” GE HealthCare Korea CEO Kim Yong-duk said. “GE Healthcare is committed to providing not only advanced technology but also the necessary training to help medical professionals make the most of these innovations.”
The company hopes that the launch of the Vscan Air PT app will further support improved clinical practices, Kim added.
GE Healthcare plans to demonstrate the Vscan Air PT app’s virtual training program at the upcoming Korea International Medical & Hospital Equipment Show (KIMES) 2025, taking place from March 20 to 23 at COEX in Seoul.
Alongside the app launch, GE Healthcare will offer on-site contract promotions for the Vscan Air CL and the newly introduced Vscan Air SL.
